The Ungsteiner Herrenberg has already been awarded with the label "outstanding" within the "Königlich Bayerischen Landbewertung"(Royal Bavarian value assessment) in 1828. Its name derives from the former Counts of the region.

We grow our Riesling grapes on one hectar. It benefits from the very sunny hillside, protected by cold influences.

Different from many other areas in this region, the Herrenberg soil contains clay and a high percentage of limestone. Therefore, the grapes reach a high degree of maturity. A part of red sandstone does also contribute to a very special mineral saltiness. The results are elegant wines with a delicate fruit aroma, with a good ageing potential.
