Even the Romans recognized the qualities of this site and built an estate here – a „Villa Rustica". In the 14th century the neighbouring vine planting was named "wile" after the well conserved "Villa", which later became "Weilberg".

Upon our hectare of the Weilberg we cultivate Riesling grapes. Besides the beneficial exposition of the site, the unique quality of the soil results in a special note of the harvested grapes.

The predominant soil type of the Weilberg is "Terra Rossa" (red earth/soil). It is a clayey limestone soil, which usually can be found in Mediterranean area. Riesling grapes raised here, captivates with an opulent richness and a savoury fruit aroma.
